In a team of two students, we had to take an existing house, which was the “Onkel Freds Huette by Hertl.Architekten and had elaborate detailed plans just from pictures of the house. “Onkel Freds Huette“ was planned for a sharp calculative, practical businessman, who adores the general survey. That is why during the planning small, and thought-out rooms have been created, in order to provide everything in a small space. A small, compact passive house in the middle of a green space has been created. While the presence of the resident, it produces solely minimal running costs and during his absence even none. Since the building stands on a lease basis, the maximal ridge height is only allowed to be less than 4.25m in altitude and 35m2 in area. In order to facilitate the creation of a passive house, the outher walls are proportionally wider. Despite the 1 floor limit in altitude, a 2 floor utilisation had to be made possible. That´s why ground floor got sunk into the terrain. Consequently 2 floors with a different atmosphere got created.
